Ollie Gray was a private investigator hired by the Ramsey family's defense team. He was known for frequently making media appearances in which he prematurely named "prime suspects" who were later determined to have no connection to the crime.

Over his career, Gray publicly implicated Michael Helgoth, John Gigax, Gary Oliva, Robert Ferbrache, Darrel Kirkwood, and John Mark Karr in the killing. In his last interview, Gray stated "there's no doubt" that "Helgoth and his accomplices committed the crime".

Gray worked closely with the Boulder District Attorney's office, particularly with the DA's investigator Lou Smit.

After Smit's resignation from the DA's office, Lou Smit's private investigation business "Lou Smit Investigations" combined with John San Augustin and Ollie Gray's company "Integrated Network, Inc" to form "United Investigative Associates".
