(Back to Evidence)

There has been much speculation about the fact that when JonBenet Ramsey's body was found, she was still wearing some of the clothing she had worn to the Whites' Christmas party the previous evening. Patsy Ramsey was also wearing the same clothing on December 26 that she had worn to the party the previous evening.

Tracing the clothing provides potential information about the movements of the people within the home that night, as well as sources of potential fiber evidence.

Clothing Found on JonBenet's Body[edit | edit source]

When her body was found in the family's Basement, JonBenet was wearing:

  • Gap shirt: a white shirt with a star made out of sequins.
  • Underwear: size 12 Bloomingdale's underwear (several sizes too big for JonBenet) with "Wednesday" written on them. Visibly urine-stained.
  • Long johns: a pair of boys' long johns with a fly front. Visibly urine-stained.
  • Jewelry: a golden necklace with a cross and a ring.
  • Hair ties: JonBenet's hair was "fixed in two ponytails, one on top of the head secured by a cloth hair tie and blue elastic band, and one in the lower back of the head secured by a blue elastic band".

Forensic Analysis[edit | edit source]

The Gap shirt - blood and urine detected. DNA matched to JonBenet Ramsey.

Oversized Bloomingdale's underwear - blood and urine detected. DNA matched to JonBenet Ramsey and an unidentified minor component. Fibers found that were consistent with John Ramsey's black shirt.

Boys long johns - urine detected. DNA matched the JonBenet Ramsey and an unidentified minor component.

Clothing Found at the Scene[edit | edit source]
